01

Getting started

How do I enrol?

Fill out the form on our enrol page. We'll review your details and come back to you within 1–2 business days to confirm a starting date and group.

Can we do a trial lesson first?

Yes. You can request a trial lesson at the time of enrolment — just tick the trial lesson box on the enrol form. We'll arrange a suitable class for your child to attend and discuss whether it's the right fit afterwards.

What happens at the first lesson?

New students start with a short assessment so we can place them at the right level. After that, they join the regular class rhythm — working through our material, school homework, or whatever is most pressing that week.

Do you offer an introductory assessment?

Yes. Every new student has a brief level-check at their first lesson. There is no separate fee for this — it's built into the first paid session.

02

Lessons

What is the student-to-tutor ratio?

Groups are kept small — typically 4–6 students per tutor for high school tutoring, and 8–10 per teacher for primary classes. Primary classes have a fixed curriculum and booklet, while high school groups work individually with a circulating tutor.

What subjects are covered?

Primary: Maths, English reading, English writing, and NAPLAN preparation. High school: all core QCAA subjects including Maths (General, Methods, Specialist), English, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Economics, Legal Studies, and more. Dr Lee's Chemistry class is a separate senior-focused program.

What should my child bring?

For high school group tutoring: school notes, current assignments, textbooks, and a laptop or tablet if available. For primary classes: a pencil case and a folder — we provide the booklets. Dr Lee's Chemistry students should bring their school-issued materials.

What happens if my child misses a lesson?

If you notify us at least 24 hours in advance, we can organise a makeup lesson at another time during the following week, subject to availability. Absences without 24 hours notice forfeit the session fee. Full details on our cancellation policy are on the contact page.

Do you provide materials and resources?

Primary classes receive weekly booklets as part of the program. High school tutoring students work with school materials and our additional resources (past papers, worked examples, reference sheets) as needed.

03

Programs

Can my child switch programs mid-term?

Yes — we'll talk with you about whether the new program suits better, and arrange the change from the start of the following week. Fees adjust on a pro-rata basis.

Can we join partway through a term?

Yes. We accept new students throughout the term, subject to availability in the group or class. Fees are pro-rated from the date you join.

How do you help us choose the right program?

The enrol form asks for your child's year level and school — from there, we suggest programs that fit. If you're unsure, call or email us and we can walk through the options for your child specifically.

Do you offer one-on-one tutoring?

Our core format is small group tutoring. If you have a specific need that requires 1:1, please contact us and we'll see what can be arranged.

04

Payments

How are fees structured?

Fees are charged per term, in advance. The number of sessions per term depends on the Queensland school calendar for the relevant term.

What payment methods do you accept?

Cash, card, and bank transfer. Invoices are issued at the start of each term.

Are there discounts for siblings or friends?

Yes — students enrolling together with friends receive $5 off per person enrolled. Sibling arrangements are discussed case-by-case; please contact us.

What is your cancellation policy?

We must be notified of an absence at least 24 hours in advance. A replacement lesson can then be organised for a time before the following week's regular lesson. Otherwise, fees will be forfeited.
