About

Built for Brisbane families, from Prep through ATAR.

Lee Excellence is a family-founded tutoring centre on the southside. Two campuses, specialist staff, and programs that span foundational skills through to university entry preparation.

The Centre

A tutoring centre built around the people who teach.

What we do

Weekly classes from Prep through Year 12 across our Mansfield and Stretton campuses: primary maths and English, NAPLAN and scholarship exam preparation, high school group tutoring, senior Chemistry, and a UCAT intensive for Medicine and Dentistry applicants.

01 · Why we exist

Great teaching changes what a student believes is possible. That belief is the foundation we build on, using structured classes, small groups, and specialist staff who know what top performance actually looks like.

02 · What makes us different

What shapes the work is who's in the room. Primary students learn from qualified primary school teachers. High school students work with ATAR 99+ graduates who sat the current system within the last few years. Our Chemistry class is taught by a practising high school Chemistry teacher. The right person for the stage, every stage.

03 · How we work

Small groups, weekly booklets and resources, assessment on intake, and continuous feedback. We teach toward the specific exams and assessments students will actually sit, not a generic curriculum running in parallel to school.

Mr. E-Yong Lee, Founder
01 · Founder · ATAR 99+

Mr. E-Yong Lee

I graduated from Brisbane State High School in 2019 with an OP1 / ATAR 99+. In high school, I actively participated in academic extracurriculars, placing first in the Maths Team Challenge and RACI Titration Competition, among others.

I believe that a strong educational foundation is invaluable, which is why it's my mission to help every student excel and reach their potential.

Pedagogical values

Teaching, not content delivery

A good tutor doesn't walk through a textbook. They diagnose what a student understands, prescribe what to practise, and coach the judgement that separates a B from an A. That kind of teaching takes deliberate design, and it's why we built this centre.

The right person for the stage

Primary students need qualified teachers. Senior students need recent top performers. The job is different, and the team is matched accordingly.

Ms. Joy Wang, Head of Primary School
02 · Head of Primary School

Ms. Joy Wang

Ms. Wang leads our primary program across both campuses. A qualified primary school teacher with years of classroom experience, she designs the weekly booklets and curriculum progression that underpins every primary class.

Her students, from Prep through Year 7, are known for walking into senior years with strong foundations and, just as importantly, genuine curiosity.

Pedagogical values

Confidence before content

A child who believes they can learn will. Our first job is to build that belief, through warmth, patience, and visible progress. The content follows naturally.

Structure is kind

Young students thrive when expectations are clear and the rhythm is predictable. A well-structured lesson is a kind lesson.

Partner with parents

Parents are the most important teachers in a child's life. We share what we see, explain what we're working on, and make it easy to continue the learning at home.

Mr. E-Shane Lee, Head of High School
03 · Head of High School

Mr. E-Shane Lee

Mr. Lee leads our high school tutoring program. He works directly with Year 7–12 students across Maths, Sciences, and the broader QCAA curriculum, and oversees the tutors who run our senior group sessions.

His focus is helping students move from knowing content to executing under exam conditions, the transition where most senior students plateau.

Pedagogical values

Teach the technique, not just the topic

Most senior students know more than they can show in an exam. We teach the moves that turn knowledge into marks: how to read a question, structure an answer, and manage time under pressure.

Student ownership

A tutor who works harder than the student is doing the student a disservice. Our job is to give students the tools and habits to drive their own preparation, not to carry it for them.

Assessment is the syllabus

The QCAA assessment is the map. We teach toward it deliberately, covering rubric alignment, IA structure, and exam technique, because that's what actually moves ATARs.

The Teachers

Qualified educators for every primary year.

Our teachers are qualified primary school educators with recognised teaching certifications and extensive experience across the primary curriculum. Each teacher is appointed based on their professionalism, subject knowledge, and ability to understand how young students learn at different stages. They focus on building strong academic foundations while nurturing confidence, independence, and positive learning habits, through clear instruction and a supportive classroom environment.

The Tutors

ATAR 99+ high-achievers who've walked the path.

Our tutors are high-achieving recent graduates who attained ATARs of 99+ and have a strong, first-hand understanding of the current ATAR system and senior secondary requirements. Several achieved the highest marks in the state for their respective subjects, giving them deep insight into what top performance looks like in modern assessments. Beyond results, our tutors are selected for their ability to communicate clearly, relate to students, and break down complex concepts into manageable steps.
