“I've had a great experience with Lee Excellence Mansfield. The tutors are really patient and take the time to explain things properly, which made a big difference for my child's confidence and results. You can tell they genuinely care about the students.”
ConnorEnglish tutoring in Brisbane.
Essay feedback, text analysis, and exam preparation for Years 7–12, in small groups with ATAR 99+ tutors at our Mansfield and Stretton campuses.
What English demands
English is the subject almost every student carries through to Year 12. In the QCE, English is assessed through three internal pieces worth 25% each (a written response for a public audience, a persuasive spoken response, and an exam requiring an imaginative written response) plus an external exam worth 25%, an analytical written response.
That mix rewards very different skills: drafting and redrafting, speaking persuasively, and writing well under timed conditions. Most marks are internal, which means they are won in the quality of drafts and feedback long before assessment day.
Our High School Group Tutoring program supports English from Year 7 through Year 12. ATAR 99+ tutors give detailed feedback on drafts, work through text analysis, and run timed practice for exam pieces, using the texts and tasks set by your school.
How English support runs
English is covered within High School Group Tutoring, our program for Years 7–12.
Small groups of 4–6
Each tutor works with 4–6 students, so written work gets read closely and discussed, not skimmed.
Feedback on real drafts
Bring assignment drafts, orals, or practice essays. Tutors coach toward the rubric you are actually being marked against and show where marks are lost.
Weekly sessions, timed practice
Sessions of 2–3 hours after school on weekdays and through Saturday, with timed writing practice as exam pieces approach.
Reviews from real parents.

“Honestly, if I could I would give this lovely place a 10/10!! Words cannot explain how much the lovely tutors helped my kids. The tutors have provided them with long term guidance and mentorship and of course, honed their educational ability.”
M L“Great tutor with real experience. My son has impressively improved in little time. I tried so many tutors (more than 10) around Brisbane but Lee classes are the best so far. Thank you.”
Vandhana BhartiQuestions about English
Do you run a separate English class?
English support runs inside our High School Group Tutoring program for Years 7–12. Students work on their own subjects in small groups while a tutor circulates, so English students get individual feedback without needing a dedicated class.
Who tutors English?
Our high school tutors are ATAR 99+ graduates who sat QCAA exams within the last few years. Several achieved top marks in the state, and they know what strong senior English writing looks like from recent experience.
How is QCE English assessed?
Through four pieces worth 25% each: a written response for a public audience (IA1), a persuasive spoken response (IA2), an exam with an imaginative written response (IA3), and an external exam requiring an analytical written response.
Do you help younger students in Years 7–10?
Yes. The group program covers Years 7–12, so junior students get help with essays, comprehension, and assignment writing well before the senior assessment years. Primary-aged students are covered by our separate Primary Maths & English classes.
How much does tutoring cost?
High school group sessions are $70 for 2 hours or $100 for 3 hours, billed per term in advance. The full fee schedule is on our pricing page.
Can my child try a lesson first?
Yes. Tick the trial lesson box on the enrol form and we'll arrange a suitable class for your child to attend, then discuss whether it's the right fit afterwards.
