Year 11–12 · QCE

Physics tutoring in Brisbane.

Small group support for QCE Physics from ATAR 99+ tutors: clear explanations, worked problems, and exam preparation at our Mansfield and Stretton campuses.

The Subject

What Physics demands

QCE Physics pairs demanding concepts with serious maths. Units 3 and 4, the summative units, cover gravity and motion, electromagnetism, and revolutions in modern physics including special relativity, quantum theory, and the Standard Model.

Assessment is split between an external exam worth 50% and three internal pieces: a data test (IA1, 10%), a student experiment (IA2, 20%), and a research investigation (IA3, 20%). Success takes both conceptual clarity and the discipline to show working the way markers expect.

In our High School Group Tutoring program, Physics students work with ATAR 99+ tutors who sat the current QCAA syllabus themselves. Sessions cover whatever is most urgent: understanding a concept, drafting an experiment write-up, or working through past papers before the external.

How It Works

How Physics support runs

Physics is covered within High School Group Tutoring, our program for Years 7–12.

Small groups of 4–6

Each tutor works with 4–6 students, with time to unpack a concept on the whiteboard when a textbook explanation isn't landing.

Your school work first

Bring problem sets, experiment drafts, or data test practice. The tutor works through your material and the assessment behind it.

Weekly sessions, exam habits

Sessions of 2–3 hours after school on weekdays and through Saturday, with timed past-paper practice in the lead-up to exams.

I've had a great experience with Lee Excellence Mansfield. The tutors are really patient and take the time to explain things properly, which made a big difference for my child's confidence and results. You can tell they genuinely care about the students.

Honestly, if I could I would give this lovely place a 10/10!! Words cannot explain how much the lovely tutors helped my kids. The tutors have provided them with long term guidance and mentorship and of course, honed their educational ability.

Great tutor with real experience. My son has impressively improved in little time. I tried so many tutors (more than 10) around Brisbane but Lee classes are the best so far. Thank you.

Questions about Physics

Do you run a separate Physics class?

Physics support runs inside our High School Group Tutoring program for Years 7–12. Students work on their own subjects in small groups while a tutor circulates, so Physics students get individual help without needing a dedicated class.

Who tutors Physics?

Our high school tutors are ATAR 99+ graduates who sat QCAA exams within the last few years. Several achieved top marks in the state. They know the current Physics assessment style firsthand.

How is QCE Physics assessed?

Units 3 and 4 count toward the final result: a data test (IA1, 10%), a student experiment (IA2, 20%), a research investigation (IA3, 20%), and an external exam worth 50% of the subject.

Can tutors help with the student experiment and research investigation?

Yes. Students bring drafts and data, and tutors give targeted feedback on structure, analysis, and clarity. The final work must be the student's own, and that is exactly what draft feedback in a small group supports.

How much does tutoring cost?

High school group sessions are $70 for 2 hours or $100 for 3 hours, billed per term in advance. The full fee schedule is on our pricing page.

Where do sessions run?

At both campuses: Mansfield (481 Broadwater Rd, opposite Mansfield State High School) and Stretton (5G/528 Compton Rd). Sessions run after school on weekdays and through Saturday. See the timetable for current times.
